Devil Went Down to Georgia

Posted by electricaxe on October 22, 2007

Have a look at this, someone made a stop-motion video to the song ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’. The song has changed a little as its the Primus version as compared to the Charlie Daniel’s Band version, and even though the quality isn’t to flash its still a pretty cool clip. I especially like the bobbing chickens and Johnny playing all around the devil.

Note: Stupid ifilm this took me ages to post!….I done told you once you son of a bitch ifiim, im the best there’s ever been!

Holidays with MacGvyer.

Posted by electricaxe on October 18, 2007

Sooo, John, Michael and I totally win at holidays! the chick at Flight Centre, as much help as she was with all her constant Brisbane knowledge totally overcharges as by like about $700 on accommodation. So here’s the story, previously I was researching where we were going to stay and cuz I’m so awesome, totally memorised the amounts we were supposed to be charged, so when the total for one place was like $500 more then what I saw on the Internet I was a little suspicious. we then all went back to HQ (ie Michael’s house) and looked up that shit. Of course, I was right! but I wasn’t to sure why it was so much more there were some theories flying around like, she maybe booking us the wrong apartment or some sort of uber commission. In the end we just waited to see her again. When we got there she was more puzzled then us as, apparently the prices were supposed to be the same as what you would find on the net for competitive reasons. Apparently commission is included in that amount or something, i dunno i wasn’t really paying attention at the time. So yeah, got all that money knocked off the initial bill. so I’m totally stoked!!!

So with the Jan LAN coming up, our holiday and the Maiden concert, January is going be one fucken awesome month, chockful of awes-tastic awesomeness….to the max!

On another note, we all bought seasons of MacGyver at like Kmart. if there was some sortof holiday in MacGyver’s honour I still don’t think there would be as much MacGyver-based action. i also got two more seasons of NCIS, so that rocks. Also John and Michael totally BOTH bought seasons 1,2 and 3 of MacGyver, as far as I remember happy days ensued!

MacGyver For President!

 Peace!

And then there was ROCK!

Posted by electricaxe on October 7, 2007

So, like I wrote this blog a few days ago only like an idiot I wrote it on my laptop and guess what…no wireless network connection! WOO! and there’s no way I was going to write it all over again, that’s just not the kind of guy I am. So without further ado:

Here’s another update, cause its been while since I should have posted and even longer since I actually did. As noted on my fellow rocker Michael’s blog, We have recently obtained tickets to what will promise to be the most rock-tastic rock show of the year, Iron Maiden. After 15 years they finally return to Australia and yours truly will personally be there to make sure its the giant flaming pile of rocking rock that ever rocked, that it so surely will be!

Not much else has happened, but there’s a few aces yet to be drawn from my sleeves, so stay tuned. Same Bat time, Same Bat Channel.

To quote the greatest show ever:
All hail the metal lord! Malachai. Futurama – Episode title: Godfellas

Posted by electricaxe on September 12, 2007

As promised another blog update, this one a doozy. Check this out:

http://guitarheronoid.blogspot.com/

All i can say is finally some nerds with enough time on there hands to make a Guitar Hero Bot, we’ve all thought of it….well I know at least I have. Even if it misses every second note on EASY, I’m sure things will only look up…i mean they cant get much worse, can they?
In any case, i give then congratulations and anxiously await further installments of the GuitarHeroNoid.

Accompanying this post is a all new look website dedicated to the hit Guitar Hero franchise, god only knows how many hours I’ve put into that game. But hey, it might not all be for nothing…according to this comic:

Im a musician!

…and on a unrelated note, the new Iron Man trailer came out yesterday. Take a look.

That’s all for now.

Drought over!

Posted by electricaxe on September 11, 2007

OK, so now I know it’s been a while but well…..I’m lazy. But its okay i have the cure. One that I’m stealing but its a cure nether-the-less.

The idea now is to only have short blog posts, instead of trying to recount my life story from the last post and forgetting major world shattering events that occur within them. So here we are the first on hopefully many frequent blog posts:

I was searching the Net recently as one does, and I came across this blog of someones, here’s a snippet.

http://blog.abovetopsecret.com/zeddicus/2006/11/best_fake_wolverine.html

Now I don’t claim to be the best at the whole “costume thing”, but I would say that I at least try to make it right as best as I can.

For those of you playing at home this is the picture I’m referring to:

Fake Wolverine

and here’s me:

Wolverine Me

I don’t know if this is just me, but I think that I look a billion times better then this guy, and that’s fair enough, i am awesome at most things. but the fact that this post I’m linking to refers to this guy as quote “…the best Wolverine costume ever.” left me a little stumped. I mean ever without seeing my great picture that may well have Hugh Jackman wondering if hes job of the Wolverine set is in peril, i still think that this picture isn’t that great. Of course it’s not at all bad, it’s just not great either.

Well, this is longer then I initially anticipated. Still….

Comments are of course not only welcome, but encouraged. :P I’m interested to see what other peoples take on this is.

Danger!….Emotional Spill Ahead!

Posted by electricaxe on June 18, 2007

I’m feeling sick, so i have the day off work to add to my blog….

OK, so another addition to my blog, but unfortunately its not a very fun one. I am very emotionally vulnerable at the moment. So those reading this, read it! and forget it!
I’m feeling very down recently and i need to voice my feelings. Bear with me, this is a very complex situation and there are many attributes which i feel i need to discuss.

My superhero dress-up party was on Saturday, I organised it for my 22nd birthday, all my friends where there, it should have been a happy occasion. To me it seemed like it wasn’t. All those friends of mine that took the time to go above and beyond the call of duty i thank you! You do not realise how much things like that mean to me. Although it seems like only a costume, the act of spending that time to get that costume ready for my party means more to me then i can say.

So, after spending countless weeks organising this party, i think i assumed that it would be a lot more. All i really need is to be surrounded by friends and know that they are there having fun. I was with friends, but to me they weren’t having fun, now i was a little drunk so my perception may be a little off, but from memory the whole night was just this. Everyone standing around in complete silence, while i was skipping around them in circles screaming “its a party, drink something!”.

Anyway that’s off the point, another reason i feel this way is. For as many birthday parties that i can remember, as well as the gifts we have given people we have also given them a card. I, however was to receive no card. This may not have been very much of a problem if a day before i hadn’t come across my wrapping paper from with last birthday, which was just a pieces of paper with everyone’s well wishes on it. I sat there and read it over and over and thought about the party we had and how my friends were the pretty much the greatest thing in my life. Back to the present. The gifts they gave my were really awesome and it shows how much they know me when they get me the exact things that i wanted. Its just that with the absence of the card, it leaves me disappointed and sad with the fact that maybe, in some sort of small, minuet way i don’t matter. Of course, they could have just forgotten, but because i feel like this at the moment, i may be over-thinking things and taking them to the extreme.

Right now, i just wanted to stab myself in the head with a pencil to stop these stupid thoughts that im having (of course i wont, don’t worry), i know they are mostly all ridiculous. but my brain just wont stop thinking about them, and all i can do is sit in a corner and listen to them. because they wont allow me to do anything else.

Other then that i am also in one of my death-depression spirals, which probably explains why i drank so much on the weekend, and why i was staring off so much. I spent most of yesterday doing the same, sitting at my computer or on my bed just staring into space.

Also i want to take this opportunity to write down a thing or two about Cassul, who in a few days will be leaving the state to pursue a gratifying career in the computer games industry. Since you are writing letters to everyone and at the moment all my feelings are splattered on the the Internet i might take this chance to do the same. it may not be a perfect venue but, one would have to forgive ones self.
So, you have been a great friend and although it seems like only recently we have really started to click and get attune to each other. it seems like we have known each other for ages and ages. Soon hopefully you will be back or we might see you over in your new home, but until then i wish you all the luck in the world because you, my friend deserve all that you can get. I look forward to hearing about all your new and exciting adventures, i hope that you keep in touch and i trust that whatever you do in the future, it will be bright with opportunities.

Also i think i have got some sort of cold or something, just because i didn’t already have enough to deal with.

I just want to re-interate, just in case it got lost in there that all my friends (and you all know who you are) i really, really thank you for all that you have done. I also want to especially thank that one person who stands by me when all the others and busy doing other things to just come and talk to me to see how i am and is the one person that i can truly open up to. Our d&m’s mean so much more to me then anything i can ever express. I just hope that in the midst of ‘group gatherings” and humor, it doesn’t all get missed and dismissed.

Soooo, I’m feeling the smallest amount better now that i have written this. So i guess it hasn’t all been for nothing.

Blogtastic!

Posted by electricaxe on May 9, 2007

UPDATE! – well, sort of.

i spent what time i had yesterday and today trying to organise a web poll for this blog, but apparently wordpress.com wont let me, as long as I’m using the net version and not downloading their product. I am currently trying to find a way around this.

I am also looking into a custom header and seeing if uploading content is worth doing, so keep your eyes peeled.

WARNING: SPIDERMAN 3 SPOILERS BELOW, and a review, i guess

So, i went and finally saw Spiderman 3 last night after being rejected every time I went because of sold out tickets (sure, that was only twice, but its still not cool). My rating is 3.5/5. I would say 3 and a half stars and 2 spokes, but that’s just ridiculous (yeah, I’m talking you Micheal, you and you crazy illogical rating system!). In general it was pretty good, and i love Marvel so that’s a bonus, but it was just all over the place. I mean I think 3 villains for a movie is a little over the top, if your going to do that it should be a non-stop action fest, which Spidey 3 surely wasn’t. For the fights that did actually happen, they were really well done. Look at Harry, slamming his face into a pole on the opening fight. Classic!

Sandman was pretty cool, as his powers grew through out the movie and Harry (aka New Goblin, LOL) was also quite awesome, but Venom by far took the cake and then some. It must have taken at least an hour and a half to actually introduce him, but it was well worth the wait. Peter Parker is again a wining jerk in this movie and that’s WITHOUT the new emotion-exaggerator 2000 aka “the black suit” courtesy of Venom. I mean, who leaves the love of their life (and a smoking hot babe, at that) skips around town and then reenacts the first kiss with that love on a freken blonde model? Are you suicidal, man? not only did he cross the line, he vaulted over it, then kept running until it was no longer in view and started jumped up and down screaming “HEY, OVER HERE, LOOK AT ME! I’M THE WORLD’S BIGGEST JERK!”

Yes, i realise that makes little sence, but thats how stupid I think he is, blabbering idiot kind of stupid.

Anyways….i think I’m going to quit while I’m ahead or at least even.

Oh, but before i go, i just want to say how much I hate whatever projectionist was supposed to be working in the cinema i was in. Because i missed the opening scenes to the new Fantastic Four trailer. OK, picture this, I’m at the cinemas to watch Spider 3, 40% of the reason i went to see that film was for the FF trailer. So, i take a set right in the middle of the scree for maximum FF goodness and then…..it starts to play and the voices in my head are just like “oh my god,oh my god, oh my god” repeating it over and over.

Yep, that’s what i heard, nothing. The bastard forget to turn the sound on somehow. Who works as a projectionist and can’t actually work a projector, for god sakes? I didn’t think anyone did, but now i know better. Mind you after what seemed like forever the sound came back and I got to watch the last bit, but still…GRRRRRRR! If you, by some twist of fate, are reading this right now Mr. Projectionist….I HATE YOU, AND I HOPE YOUR PROJECTOR EXPLODES!! (note: G-rated for the kiddies, i could think of some other names i would call him, look out for the R-rated version in stores soon).

OK, now i’m going….. See Ya soon, Meatwads!

Genesis 1:1

Posted by electricaxe on May 7, 2007

OK, so my first “Offical” blog, cause lets get serious that MSN thing was pretty crap. Anyhow, a few things happened to my on the weekend, but I really want to talk about this one thing:

So, picture this… its Saturday, as is my custom lately i was playing WOW (side-note: my now level 40 Warlock kicks major arse, soon i will harness the power of PVP). There I am fighting trolls in Stragthorn Vale, my mum comes up to me and says “There’s only footy on and i’m bored, do you have any movies i can watch on DVD?”. “Sure!, they are right over there” i said as i gestured towards my bookshelf of DVDs. I got up to help her pick one she may like, “Fight Club, that’s a great movie” i proclaimed with excitement. apparently she haden’t seen it and my dad couldn’t remember it, so we popped it in the DVD player.

Cool…. now i can go back to WOW.

Wrong!

About 20 minutes later my mum came in the room again, saying that the movie made no sense. “You need to listen to the storyline, it all comes back at the end, just watch” i said. Nope, they had enough. Back to the DVDs we go. “OH MY GOD, WATCH SIN CITY!” i yelled. At that same moment remembering the sweet “pole action” of Jessica Alba in the movie and getting overexcited.

“Looks interesting” my mum says as she browses the back cover of the DVD case. So, again we put the DVD in. I stayed until the scene when you first see Jessica (aka Nancy) at the bar. Sigh…. that’s all I needed. I then went off to play WOW again…

….

An hour or so passed, i decided to go in a check on them. The part where the yellow guy is tailing Nancy and Hartigan and spins off the road. “Oh man, this is such a great movie!” i said as Hartigan and Nancy are searching for the yellow mans body. “Its WAY! to gruesome!” my dad exclaims, my mum nods in agreement. “Pfft”. OK, ill just ignore that maybe they haven’t got to the stage of reviewing the movie in your head where you decide how good the movie is, in any case, i should at least let them finish.

So, i was going out. So i needed to get ready. I went to get changed, had a shower etc.

I came out of my room ready to leave the house, when i hear, “STOP! the movie!”. My dad was shouting. “I don’t know how anyone can watch this stuff, it’s way to violent.”

Breathe……Take a big breath……

“You haven’t even watched it all!” I protested.

“NO!”

“I’ve had enough!”

That’s it, the movie was switched out just as Hartigan mutters the best line in the movie “…Yeah, and maybe after that i’ll go punch out God” Classic!

So, this is where i am, my question, How can someone NOT like Sin City? Its a goddamn masterpiece!

….

Sigh….i really don’t understand how come people just stop being all “bleh” and be legendary instead, like me, my mates and old Swarles.

Some other stuff happend also, i almost ran my car into some plastic pillars, i was oh-so-close to punching this one guy in the face, and had a killer night with my mates at the local Pool Hall. All and all a pretty interesting weekend.

Stay Tuned as I further invest my powers of awesome into this site to make it a more magical place then Disneyland.

Out. Suckers!
